About the university
National University (abbreviated Unas) is the oldest private university in Jakarta and is the second oldest university in Indonesia. Unas was founded on October 15, 1949, on the initiative of the leading scholars of the time who were gathered in the Association of Advancing Science and Culture (PMIK). The symbol of National University in the form of the Monument of the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence 1945, with a pentagon star above it circled by red and white ribbons and on a green shield.
