About the university
The origin of the Islamic State Islamic Institute (formerly known as Zawiyah Cot Kala Langsa) was founded in 1980 as a result of the Islamic Religious Seminar on the Region, Aceh Tamiang (formerly in the East Aceh region). The name "Zawiyah Cot Kala" was taken from the name of the largest and oldest higher education institution in Southeast Asia located in Bayeun, East Aceh 4th century Hijriyah. As a realization of the results of the seminar, through the initiative by M. Hasan ZZ, B.A. (Kakandepag Aceh Timur at that time), Drs. T.M. Arifin Amin, Drs. Azhar Zakaria (Ka MAN at that time), H. Zainuddin Saman and Drs. Idris Harahap and the support of the government and various levels of society, then founded the Zawiyah Islamic Institute of Cot Kala Langsa.
