Planning means to steer the use of the territory, city, environment and landscape by adopting the required tools to fulfil strategic choices related to everyone’s life. You will become a territorial planner, a “territorial technician” with specific skills: drafting urban, territorial, environmental and landscape plans; defining and managing programs and integrated projects of urban and environmental transformation and regeneration; developing analysis and evaluations of territorial and environmental character; designing territorial information systems; managing technical and administrative procedures of plans and programs related to the city and the territory for public administrations. The territorial planner is a key professional in the urbanization processes managing land-use, air pollution, social inequalities, given the need to respond to climate chang, also considering the safeguard of landscape, historical and cultural heritage, plus the enhancement of the landscape and the improvement of quality life in urban spaces. Compared to architecture programmes, our programme does not focus on the single building, but rather on the city and its transformations, on the organization of extended territories, on the landscape and on the management of environmental resources, up to the supranational scale. Compared to engineering programmes, our programme does not focus so much on specific interventions, but on the ability to analyze urban and territorial phenomena with a multidisciplinary approach and on those methods and tools to support choices related to the organization and management of the territory in plans and programs. In July 2019 our Bachelor's degree programme was awarded the Certificate of Quality by AESOP, Association of European Schools of Planning. This prestigious certification awards the best courses that train territorial planners throughout Europe.
