About the university
Hachinohe National College of Technology was established in 1963 as the first national institute of higher education for engineering education in Aomori Prefecture. Since its establishment, more than 5000 students have been graduated from the College, which was founded to “produce creative engineers trough five-year education”, and now is highly appreciated because it trains the students to be proficient technical experts. In 2002, the Advanced Course was established to enable the students to obtain a bachelor’s degree. This course has also its unique merit especially for the financially challenged students as the tuition is comparatively lower than that of other universities. Despite a recent job shortage in this county, a large number of job offers came to the College, and the rate of employment of the graduates is still very high. There are also ways to transfer to the undergraduate courses and then go ahead into the graduate courses of the universities.
