The Hachinohe Institute of Technology (HIT) promotes technological advances and environmental and energy sustainability in the northern Tohoku region through its provision of higher-education programs, its research programs, and its outreach programs. Since its establishment in Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture, in 1972, HIT has promoted technological innovation and cutting-edge design through its well-organized education system and its advanced research achievements, thereby becoming one of Japan's leading undergraduate and postgraduate institutions.
