About the university
In December 1977, Lee Jong-wook of the School of Fine Arts was established as Suwon Technical College. In 1979, it was reorganized as Suwon Technical College. In 1989, it became a Suwon Junior College. In 1998, it changed its name to Suwon Science College. In 1991, the campus was moved to the main campus and there are five buildings including the main building and social science museum. The installation department includes electronic computing, internet information, aerospace tourism, industrial system management, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, building equipment, mechanical design, mold design, heat treatment, electricity, architecture, , Industrial Design Department, Interior Design Department, Dental Hygiene Department, Nursing Department, Securities Finance Department, Social Welfare Department, Broadcast Entertainment Department, Social Sports Department, Music Department and Automated Welding Department. 2,920 freshmen are selected every year. There are a library, a college, a broadcasting station, an electronic calculator as an attached institution, a social education institute as an attached institution, and an attached research institute such as a student life research institute, an industrial technology research institute, and a financial industry research institute. There are 21 clubs such as Yulang and Kite Shade, and the Bima Comprehensive Festival is held every May. Founded in 1978, the library has 964 reading seats and about 50,000 volumes. It has 15 kinds of scholarships, including Korean-American scholarships and 17 kinds of scholarships. Suwon University is a corporation educational institution. It is located in the plain area of Jeongnam-myeon, Hwaseong-si.
