About the university
Tiraspol State University is the legal successor of the Institute of Public Education of Moldova, inaugurated on October 1, 1930, in the capital of the former Moldovan Autonomous Republic. The Institute of Public Education of Moldova is the first higher education institution in the Republic of Moldova. Over the years, the name of the institution has been changed several times. Since May 1992, he has been granted the status of State University. Practically, by the end of the forties of the last century, the University of Tiraspol was the only higher education institution to prepare specialties for the national economy of the Republic. The main mission of university education is the promotion of the student youth, the creation of the intellectual elite. For over 80 years the State University of Tiraspol has formed in its faculties and departments over 60 thousand highly qualified specialists, from which a whole plethora of personalities have been highlighted: culture people, scholars and university professors, writers, Celebrities in culture and education. Simultaneously with the training of specialists, the college of the university has carried out a fruitful activity of scientific research. Thus, the State University of Tiraspol laid the foundations of university education and made a major contribution to the cultural, social, political and economic treasure of the Republic of Moldova.
