About the university
Education industry has so developed in Nigeria that exiting higher institutions seem not able to cope with the demands for higher education, especially the production of teachers suited to the National Universal Basic Education (UBE) programme of the Federal Government of Nigeria. In view of this compelling need, and in pursuance of the objectives of the National Policy on Education targeted to the training of teachers suited to the UBE programme, the “The College of Education, Nsukka’ (TCEN) was established.
