About the university
The Oyo State Government has announced the indefinite closure of the Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, following an alleged violent protest by students over their welfare. A statement by the state Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Adeniyi Olowofela, conveyed the closure, in Ibadan, on Friday. The statement directed students to vacate the school premises immediately, while law enforcement agents were enjoined to secure lives and government property on the college.
