The University of Bergen (UiB) is Norway's second oldest university and was established in Bergen in 1946. With almost 15,000 students and over 3400 employees, it is a medium-sized European university. It is a city university where central parts of the campus are located close to the central parts of Bergen. The University of Bergen is both an educational institution and a research institution that covers most disciplines, organized in seven faculties and 54 institutes and academic centers
