About the university
State Higher School of Theater School. L. Solski in Krakow was founded in 1946 by Julius Osterwa, as a result of the merger of three active studies in Krakow: the Old Actor's Studio Theater, Actor's Studio at the Theater. J. Stowacki Part Dramatic and Iwo Galla. In the first period of its existence the school taught dramatic actors in the three years of study. In 1949 the name changed to the State Higher School of Acting, then also extended the period of study to four years. The present name, the State Higher School of Theater School. Ludwika Solskiego, was adopted in 1955. In the years 1954 -1964 Krakow Theater School also trained actors at the Department of Puppetry (graduates of this course were, among others, Maja Komorowska, Ryszard Cieślak, Kazimierz Kaczor).
