About the university
The mission of the University is to convey knowledge, seek the truth, and to shape the minds of young people in a spirit of responsibility for the future of the individual in a local, regional and global perspective. Feeling responsible for building a modern society, the University faces new challenges through high quality education and presents an appropriate educational offer that is sensitive to changing labor market requirements. The school has joined in the process of international and cross-border cooperation with Ukraine, Lithuania and Belarus. It is used for cooperation agreements with the Association of Local Governments of Euroregion Bug. The school also cooperates with higher education institutions in Ukraine, including the Volyn National University. Łesi Ukrainy in Lutsk and the State Pedagogical University in Luck. Ivan Franko in Drohobych. The college has also signed a cooperation agreement with the Gimnazjum im. Jan Śniadecki in Soleczniki, Lithuania. The main organizational unit of the University is the Faculty of Social Sciences. The faculty conducts education in the field of Politology - these are the first and since 2010 also the second degree. The faculty is authorized to provide education in the fields of Public Health and Economics (first cycle studies). The School of International Relations and Social Communication conducts education in the field of Politics with various specializations. The proposed specialties result from the University profile and the goals it sets itself. The most important of these is the thorough preparation of students by offering both theoretical knowledge at the highest level and the practical skills of social, political and economic activity. The school employs qualified academic teachers, who are mainly employees of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, Jan Kochanowski University of Humanities and Sciences in Kielce, the Catholic University of Lublin and the National University of Lviv. Since the establishment of the Higher School of International Relations and Social Communication in Chełm, activities aiming at improving the quality of education have been conducted. This is reflected, among others. In expanding and refining the didactic offer with new fields of study, new specializations adjusting them to the labor market needs. Successively increasing resources of teaching aids help the teaching process. Improving the quality of education has an impact not only on improving the conditions of education, the development of scientific and didactic staff, but also by engaging in shaping the local environment and international cooperation. The school develops scientific activity - it organizes scientific conferences, open lectures, meetings with famous scientists and politicians, publishes scientific publications.
