MAJORS: Cultural Communication Film and Media Studies Literary Culture Theatre and Performance Studies Theory of Culture and Cultural Anthropology Urban Aesthetics Cultural studies is an interdisciplinary field that combines the theory and history of culture with knowledge of theater, literature, film, media as well as cultural communication and urban aesthetics. The first semester gives general cultural and humanistic knowledge, which is then deepened within the framework of profiled specialties, focused on various fields of culture, media and research aspects. Students graduating from the 2nd cycle studies are aware of the complex nature of cultural texts. They gain the ability to think critically and interpret the cultural reality that surrounds them. They are equipped with tools for the description and analysis of phenomena in the fields of theater, film, audiovisual media, language, literature and aesthetics, and are prepared to navigate the world of contemporary communication behaviors, to identify them and use them strategically. We offer field internships, during which students independently conduct research on the state of traditional and contemporary culture. During the MA seminar of the selected specialization, student prepares a diploma thesis and obtains the title of MA in cultural studies.
