Offered majors: Latin Philology; Greek Philology; Greek and Latin Philology. When is the major chosen: while enrolling for the 1st year of studies Offered foreign language courses: Italian, Modern Greek Characteristics of the programme: the curriculum of Classical Philology includes courses on ancient Greek and Latin, ancient literature and culture including the reception and continuation of antiquity in Modern Latin, Byzantine and later literature periods until modern times. Apart from degree programme and complementary classes in ancient history with elements of archaeology and history of philosophy, the curriculum also includes intensive courses on Italian or Modern Greek. Career prospects: translation of antique texts into Polish, work in libraries, archives, publishing houses, cultural and educational institutions related to the heritage of Mediterranean civilisation, in the tourism industry and other international institutions promoting Mediterranean civilisation. Other, additional information important for the candidate: The candidates for Latin or Greek major are not required to know Latin or Greek. Only bachelors of classical studies may apply for the major in Greek and Latin philology.
