The second-cycle studies in the degree programme of Mathematics are aimed at educating the graduate who has a comprehensive and in-depth mathematical knowledge, allowing them to continue education at doctoral studies or to practise the profession of a mathematician at various workplaces using mathematical tools. In particular, the graduate of mathematics: has an in-depth knowledge of mathematics and its applications; has the ability to construct mathematical reasoning and test the truth of mathematical hypotheses; can present advanced mathematical content in speech and writing; is able to build, develop and use complex mathematical models necessary for applications; uses advanced IT tools in solving theoretical and practical mathematical problems; has the ability to independently expand and deepen mathematical knowledge in the field of current research results; is prepared to continue their education in doctoral schools.
