About the university
State Higher Vocational School im. Capt. W. Pilecki in Auschwitz was established in July 2005. Its creation was a joint initiative of local authorities of the districts of Auschwitz, Małopolskie and Auschwitz. Patronage of the Jagiellonian University was taken over by the Jagiellonian University. In 2005, the Association of Municipalities and Districts of Małopolska awarded the State Higher Vocational School in Oświęcim giving it the title of "Leader 2005" - the best undertaking in Małopolska in 2005. Since 2010, the Auschwitz-Birkenau Welsh School is the first Polish university to be named after Witold Pilecki. The university studies in masters, engineering and undergraduate studies. All fields of study have a practical profile. Thanks to the Erasmus Charter students of the Auschwitz University can study at foreign universities in Spain, Germany, Turkey, Slovakia, Slovenia and the Czech Republic. State Higher Vocational School im. The master of Witold Pilecki in Auschwitz has two modern buildings: the Collegium Primum completed in 2005 and the Collegium sub Horologio, whose adaptation in the framework of the Małopolska Regional Operational Program was completed in 2010. The University's rector is housed in the historical building of the first transport of Polish political prisoners to KL Auschwitz.
