About the university
Czestochowa University of Technology was established in 1949 as one of the School of Engineering Department of Mechanical Engineering, which started in October, 160 people studied. In the next academic year we conducted a preliminary examination on the competition three departments, assuming the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (since 1953 Faculty of Mechanical Engineering) and the Faculty of Textile 150 students, and the Faculty of Metallurgy 60 people. Initially, the university had a local character, leading a three-year, and since 1953 a temporary four-year course of study engineering. Years 1950-1955 is the first period of construction of the University. At that time, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the room, boiler room and four dormitories. Also carried out a major renovation of the main building at ul School. JH Dabrowski. The beginning of the academic year 1955/1956 has brought transform the School of Engineering in Czestochowa Czestochowa University of Technology with a five-year curriculum, educating masters engineers of various specialties.
