About the university
The university was founded in 1982, in place of the disbanded November 30, 1981, due to the strikes taking place there, the Higher Military School of Fire Service (founded in 1971). In 1993, the university was awarded the Medal of Honor. Joseph Tuliszkowski. The school is housed in the former Central Fire Department Training Center, built in the style of functionalist approx. 1932 to a design by Jana Redy. The building was partially damaged in 1944. It was rebuilt in 1948.
