About the university
April 8, 1967 The Faculty of Education and Higher Education was established by the Warsaw University of Technology Branch in Płock, which was the first director and the organizer was the doc. Dr inż. Edward Kowalczyk. In 1967 as the first unit of the Faculty was established Department of Building Engineering with the task of educating students towards the construction of four-year engineering studies. The first head of the Department was Dr Eng. Paweł Pawłowski. In 1968 as the second organizational unit of the Branch was established Department of Mechanical Faculty, whose first head was dr. Andrzej Gajewski. The branch trained engineers in the field of mechanics. In 1970 the third organizational unit established was the Faculty of Chemistry. The Department's organizer and its first manager was Dr Eng. Andrzej Bukowski. In 1971, the Polytechnic's branch was granted the Statute which regulated its activity. In 1972 the evening program was opened in Filia. The major change in the branch's activity was the upgrading of engineering education to a master's degree in 1973. At the masters level, daily students were taught, leaving engineering education at evening level.
