About the university
State Higher Vocational School im. prof. Edward F. Szczepanika in Suwałki was created on 15 July 2005 by the decision of the Council of Ministers of 21 June 2005. On 27 July 2005, the Minister of National Education and Sport handed the nomination to the first Rector of the PWSZ in Suwałki, prof. Dr hab. Eng. Michał Bołtryk, acting pastor of the Białystok Technical University. On October 3, 2005 at the State Higher Vocational School in Suwałki officially began the education of about 500 students, of which almost half in the system of full-time studies in the fields of finance and banking and agriculture.
