About the university
he National School of Public Administration (KSAP) was created by the government of Tadeusz Mazowiecki in May 1990, and in September 1991 the first students were accepted. It was established as the first institution of this kind in post-communist countries. The school operates on the basis of the Act on the National School of Public Administration, passed by the Sejm of the Republic of Poland on June 14, 1991. In August of that same year, the President of the Council of Ministers gave the School statutes. The school is subject to the President of the Council of Ministers, who appoints her director. Founder and first long-term director was prof. Maria Gintow-Jankowicz.The current statute gave the School the regulation of the Prime Minister of 7 October 1999. It defines the school system, its organization, scope of work, principles of education, rights and obligations of students (Journal of Laws No. 82, item 920, 2000 no. 5, item 68, 2001, No. 13, item 108). KSAP students are selected through an open recruitment competition from those who are under the age of 32 and hold a master's degree. School education lasts twenty months. For people interested in postgraduate studies, KSAP is an interesting alternative.
