School of Nursing of the Portuguese Red Cross of Oliveira de Azeméis

The School of Nursing of the Portuguese Red Cross of Oliveira de Azeméis is a Polytechnic Higher Education Institution of the Municipality of Oliveira de Azeméis, created by Decree - 3/2002 of February 6, having as Institution Institution the Portuguese Red Cross. It develops its activity in the Nursing area and in other areas of Health Sciences whose teaching is authorized by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education or competent, according to its own plans and programs and in compliance with the fundamental principles of the Red Cross . The main objective is to train students to practice Nursing, lifelong training and promote the development of the region in which it is inserted. To achieve these objectives, the School has sought to increase the number and diversity of courses it offers, all of which are adapted to the regulations of Bologna. The educational project is oriented towards a human and civic formation, for the professional realization, for the socio-cultural integration, for the formation: technical-professional; Throughout life; Scientific-technological and cultural. At the level of the individual dimension, it is proposed to train each of its students for responsible freedom, maturity in order to make personal decisions, openness to the future, flexibility in changing attitudes and adaptation to new situations, sensitivity to Local, regional, national and international problems and personal originality supported by a critical attitude.
