The 1st Cycle of Studies in Biomedical Sciences of the Instituto Universitário de Ciências da Saúde (IUCS-CESPU) provides students with a broad and deep knowledge of human anatomy that makes it a competitive professional in several modern areas of research and development of the biological and molecular and cellular medicine areas. The Curricular Plan allows a basic medical education, in its theoretical and practical aspects, complemented by areas that train students for the critical analysis and the development of laboratory research work. It is worth mentioning the existence of practical or laboratory classes during the 3 years of the Cycle of Studies and the possibility of the student to be included in extracurricular internships in scientific projects taking place internally at IUCS-CESPU. Professionals in Biomedicine will master the interface areas between Medicine and Biological Sciences, which will allow them to collaborate with the medical and scientific community in fundamental and applied biomedical research programs, and in areas of diagnosis and therapeutics with biomedical intervention.
