Seriation criteria - 50% grade of the previous qualification - 50% mark of the curricular appreciation Applicants with no previous qualification or with no classification of previous qualification - 75% appreciation of the curriculum vitae - 25% Motivation and Justification Objectives The creation of this cycle of studies fits in the recent international dynamics that led to the creation of the European Association for the Study of Religions (2002) affiliated to the International Association for the History of Religions - IASR. This 2nd Cycle in the Science of Religions at ULHT received a great influence when it welcomed the secretary-general of the IASR in 2007. The formulation of this course has as its main objective the research on the multiplicity of the religious phenomenon, in a total freedom of research and respect. This course emerges as a response to the need to train researchers with special tools to work on religious issues outside the confessional scope. The 2nd cycle degree in Science of Religions at ULHT is the only one with these objectives in Portugal: total religious exemption. Thus, it is assumed as a fundamental objective the development of an academic community dedicated to this object of study, diversified in religious terms, but always with a scientific outlook. Career Prospects Our masters present tools with significant acuity in the fields of editorial work social work, diplomacy, religious and cultural counseling. Currently, and following the steps of several other European countries, the teaching staff and other collaborators in the area develop a wide range of activities that tend to create the image of the need to create a discipline on the religious phenomenon in Secondary Education.
