Admission Requirements The following students may apply to the cycle of studies that leads to the mestre degree a) holders of a licenciado degree or legal equivalent; b) holders of a foreign academic degree conferred following a 1st cycle of studies organized according to the principles of the Bologna process by a State that adheres to that process c) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree that is recognized as fulfilling the objectives of the degree of licenciado by the statutorily competent body; d) holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum vitae that is recognized by the statutorily competent body of ULHT as attesting the capacity to carry out this cycle of studies. Seriation criteria - 100% CV evaluation Objectives Obeying the principles of the Bologna Agreement, the Master Social Service and Social Policy aims to consolidate the basic training acquired in the Degree in Social Service and to provide a broader professional qualification in the field of Social Service and its articulation with Social Policies. This course thus responds to the growing demand to link training to political foundations in addressing issues of social inequality and the social inclusion of vulnerable groups. It also constitutes a privileged space to rethink social intervention in its theoretical-methodological and ethical-political foundations. The Master in Social Work and Social Policies aims to - Enable students to develop and deepen the knowledge of the 1st Cycle; - To investigate the relationship and articulation of Social Service and Social Policy; - Articulate knowledge in the area of Social Work with the areas of social sciences; - Reflect on ethical and deontological issues related to research and intervention; - Communicate and discuss social problems with other specialists, focusing on the approach perspective of Social Service. Further Studies Specialisation and post-graduate programmes, including 3rd cycle programmes referring to doctoral studies. Career Prospects The award of the 2nd Degree provides a qualification in the area of Social Work with repercussions on the pursuit of professional and academic careers. The deepening of the scientific methodology of research prepares postgraduates to participate and lead research projects in the area of Social Work. It constitutes a degree of access to the academic career and to the doctoral and post-doctoral level. It enables the acquisition of conceptual and methodological instruments of knowledge production, fundamental to social work today.
