Admission Requirements a) Holders of a Master's degree or legal equivalent in architecture or related areas b) Holders of the degree of Bachelor, with an academic or scientific curriculum especially relevant that is recognized as attesting the capacity to perform this course by the C.C. of ECATI -ULHT and by the CC of FCATI - ULP; c) Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum that is recognized as attesting the capacity to perform this CE by the C.C. of ECATI and the C.C. of FCATI. It is intended to capture a profile of students: 1) interested in research on the integration of Arch. in society, considering the areas that interact with it, namely from a social, cultural, technical and economic point of view; 2) open to interdisciplinary knowledge; 3) committed to promoting, in an academic and/or professional context, technological, social or cultural progress. Candidates will be subject to a rigorous selection process. Objectives The main objective of the PhD in Architecture is to train researchers and teachers in the field. This proposal aims to meet the need for innovative and creative training in the country and in the Lusophone space in its area of specialty, Architecture. The central object of the PhD in Architecture is the investigation of the integration of Architecture in society, considering the areas that interact with it, namely from a social, cultural, technical and economic point of view. In this sense, the thesis to be produced by those enrolled in the PhD in Architecture may be theoretical or theoretical/practical in nature, focusing namely on an architectural project. An additional objective of this cycle of studies is the reinforcement of the research and training capacity of the Department of Architecture of ECATI - School of Communication, Architecture, Arts and Information Technologies of ULHT and FCATI - School of Communication, Architecture, Arts and Information Technologies of ULP. Knowledge, skills and competences to be acquired The PhD Diploma in Architecture aims to provide the following competencies: -Acquire the ability to develop a research project in the area of architecture; -Acquire skills in the analysis and integration of results and data relating to the state of the art for the object area and namely through an original and innovative architecture project; -Acquire skills to develop an architectural research program in a theoretical and/or practical project that integrates the knowledge acquired throughout the curricular component of the course; -Be able to communicate critically with their academic peers; -Acquire skills to transmit advanced and innovative knowledge, including the guidance of research projects in the field of architecture; -Acquire knowledge and skills to understand and critically evaluate architectural design processes and architectural theory in the contemporary context.
