About the university

The founder of Entity EUVG is the Cognitaria Association S. Jorge de Milreu (ACSJM), whose legal status is that of a non-profit association. ACSJM was registered on December 30, 1997, published in the official bulletin, Series III, No. 226 of September 30, 1998, having as an object in "artistic and educational education, science and culture" 1. In 1999, he proceeded to purchase, plan the project and apply for formal permission to conduct activities (restoration work) in a secular building, with recognized historical and patrimonial significance, which was in ruins - the monastery of St. George Milreu. In 2000, ACSJM I gave Nicio the work of two lines of business - higher education and training - as was the goal of its creators to create an integrated educational project, with different levels of education. Given the context of the variables, both external and internal, the project has come to pass to the privileged development of the private higher educational component. He then gave a start to the creation of a higher educational institution, which was to be completed with public recognition and the subsequent establishment of the University by the Vasco da Gam School (EUVG) through Decree Law No. 5/2001 of January 10, In September 2000 (academic year 2000/2001), EUVG began its activity in university higher education in the field of veterinary medicine, architecture and landscape architecture.
