About the university
Mopani South East TVET College was established in 2003, when Phalaborwa Technical, Sir Val Duncan Technical and Mapulaneng Technical merged as part of the National transformation process that transformed Higher Education landscape in South Africa. These technical colleges then became campuses offering a variety of programmes in Business and Engineering Studies. The name came as a result of the geographical positioning of the institution “Mopani” represented the District, “South” represented Mapulaneng Campus which was on the South of Mopani District Municipality and “East” represented Sir Val Duncan and Phalaborwa which were both on the Eastern side of the District.
