About the university
In 1991 he inaugurated the building designed by the architecture studio of Ricard Bofill is the first building constructed in Spain with concrete architecture, according to the technique of in situ and precast shuttering; Its construction involved the installation of about 1,700 prefabricated concrete. The building is organized around two large square cloisters covered 48 X 48 m. The central nave that unites used as a conference hall with a capacity for 400 people. The interior areas of competition are divided into two courtyards, separated by acoustic curtains. Around these two areas are four wings, designed to accommodate the auxiliary services Track warehouse, classrooms, locker rooms, etc. Thus the blocks of classrooms are south-facing and have direct access to a staircase down to the pitch, outdoor; the facades of the administrative block of the library and onto the north; and the east and west are set to open galleries built with glass enclosures, which provide natural lighting of the two patios and the lobby.
