About the university
Business studies began in Cartagena in 1921 with the approval of the RD of September 16, under the patronage of the City Council, which for several years covered all its expenses. This Patronage was maintained until 1940. In 1925 was included in the Region of Levante in fulfillment of the RO of 8 of November of 1924. The 18 of October of 1932 are elevated to the category of Professional School of Commerce, which allows to impart the Degree of Professor Mercantil. In October of 1976 it becomes the University School of Business Studies and happens to depend on the University of Murcia. Since then it has changed its location, yielding the old premises in return, and has increased in a very remarkable way its number of students that currently exceeds the thousand.
