About the university
The Faculty of Medicine of Tunis or FMT is a Tunisian university institution that has been a member of the University of Tunis - El Manar since 2000 . Founded in October 1964 , its faculty rises in 2010 to 1,064 assistants, lecturers, senior lecturers and professors 1. The first promotion of medical students, to the number of 59, begins his studies during the academic year 1964 - 1965 . Initially, courses are taught at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Tunis . As of January 1965, the teaching took place in a pavilion of the Charles-Nicolle hospital (pavilion Antoine Cassar, now pavilion I) and then in pavilion II (renamed in 1980 Naceur Haddad pavilion ). Professor Amor Chadli is the first dean of the FMT.
