About the university
The Tunisian National Conservatory of Music is a Tunisian music education institution located in Tunis. It is an institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture. Installed in the Rue de Paris, it is one of the oldest music institutions in the country. With its renowned professors, the number of its pupils increases with time, reaching 600 in 2008. Several musicians have been successively in charge of directing the conservatory, such as Salah El Mahdi, Ahmed Achour, Mohamed Garfi, Hamadi Ben Othman and Lassaad Kria. In 2011, violinist Rachid Koubaâ became director of the institution.
