About the university
In the autumn of 1949 at the Bilotserkivskyi normal school was founded Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages. And in the 1953-1954 academic year at the Teachers' Institute organized Bilotserkivskiy Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages. September 9, 1954 Bilotserkivskiy Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages was transferred from the city of White Church of the Kiev region to Gorlivka Stalin (now Donetsk) region and called: Gorlovka Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages, the first higher education institution in Gorlovka. In July 1963 organized sports camp, which rested first 50 students. In the late 70s was introduced transition Gorlovka pedagogical institute for training teachers in two specialties: "teacher of English and German" and "teacher of French and German language" with the term of study in both departments - 5 years. Building Horlivka State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages was led diligent and talented individuals, candidate of philological sciences Seamstress Karp Kyrylovych (Rector HDPIIM 1953-1975), Ph.D., associate professor Galina Ivanenko (Rector HDPIIM 1975-1982), Ph.D., associate professor Klitsakova Ivan Alekseevich (rector HDPIIM 1982-2001). In 2001 at a meeting of the labor collective was elected Rector of the Institute Professor, Doctor of Historical Sciences Dokashenka Viktor Nikolaevich. Since 2012 the institute is part of the Donbass State Pedagogical University as a separate unit "Gorlovka Institute of Foreign Languages."
