About the university
London Contemporary Dance School (informally LCDS) is a contemporary dance school located in London, United Kingdom. It was founded by Robin Howard in 1966 to train new dancers for his company, London Contemporary Dance Theatre. LCDS is based at The Place in the Bloomsbury area of Central London, close to the Senate House complex of the University of London, RADA and University College London.

To apply you must complete the online application form - the form is spread across six separate steps. Every section of the form should be completed as fully as possible in English. Once we receive your application you may be invited to attend one of our Admission Workshops (either in person or online). After the workshop, the admissions team will be in touch via email to let you know whether you have been accepted to study at LCDS. This may take up to 2 weeks.

Accommodation
LCDS does not operate any housing of its own, but we do have mechanisms in place to ensure that accepted students will have a roof over their head prior to arrival in September. Many of our students have private housing with other peers in their year or the years above. We have a Facebook page to connect people for houses and accommodation. Scholarships
At LCDS we offer scholarships and bursaries to help with your studies and to relieve some of the financial pressures. For example, we have the Students’ Fund, Any student, whether home, overseas, undergraduate or postgraduate can apply to the Fund demonstrating their financial need and individual circumstances and, in most cases, receive a sum of money to support them while they are studying.
