If you have a relevant qualification comparable to UK level 3 (such as Access to HE Diploma in Engineering or A' levels) you can apply to join this degree. Building upon your basic engineering knowledge this BEng (Hons) Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering will help you develop advanced practical and theoretical skills to give you a strong foundation in engineering. Progressing to advanced practical experience working with specialist facilities including simulation software such as MATLAB and, as an Electrical Engineering student at Newcastle College University Centre, you will have access to a range of industry-standard equipment in practical environments. During this degree you will explore engineering principles in a range of applied mechanical applications, manufacturing systems and processes, modelling and analysis and product development, as well as gaining practical experience in destructive and non-destructive testing, finite element analysis and fracture mechanics. Working alongside industry-experienced tutors, you will learn in a practical environment with access to industry-standard facilities, exceptional student support and gain skills to set you up for an exciting career in the engineering sector. This course is mapped against the academic requirements of the Engineering Council UK-Spec for Incorporated Engineer (IENG) status and students are encouraged to join the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) as a student affiliated member.
