About the university
The Academy of Court Reporting (ACRT) was founded in 1970 in Cleveland, Ohio. The Academy has added campuses in Akron, Cincinnati, Clawson and Pittsburgh. Having placed thousands of students in today's fast paced legal system, The Academy has proven its focus on the latest courses by offering programs that can lead to reaching the long-term goals for each graduate. The Academy of Court Reporting started in 1970 as just a court reporting school, but as they began to build a reputation for themselves and produced outstanding reporters, and due to the increasing demand for qualified paralegals and legal secretaries, the Academy expanded. In 2001, the Academy developed its security and investigation programs. In 2008, the Academy also expanded to meet the needs of the business and health care communities.
