About the university
Founded in 1893, Aurora University is a private, co-educational, independent university nestled in a residential neighborhood in Aurora, IL, the state’s second-largest city. AU’s 3,200 undergraduate students choose from 40 majors and 40 minors, including programs in the liberal arts, business, criminal justice, education, nursing, and social work. With a student-faculty ratio of 15:1, students receive personal attention and individualized instruction from dedicated and experienced professors who help them to discover what matters and build their lives around it. Faculty members, 85 percent of whom hold the highest degree in their field, are both accessible teachers and distinguished scholars. They share their experiences and knowledge with students in ways that have immediate application to their field of study.
