About the university
Being recognized with four national teaching excellence awards within six years, the faculty at DACC design rigorous coursework that meets the highest standards. Students who transfer from DACC to a four-year university usually do as well as, if not better than, those who began at that school. Students involved with the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society at DACC have won multiple awards for scholarship and community service. Alumnus Jacob Lane was recognized as one of the top college students in the country by USA Today while completing his studies at DACC. Community colleges, DACC in particular, are especially responsive to economic and societal changes. DACC quickly adapts instructional offerings to meet the changing economic needs of the community. The College offers more than 100 career and transfer programs for credit within three academic divisions, Math and Science; Liberal Arts; and Business and Technology. The College has partnerships with four-year universities that bring courses to campus, or offer degree-completion programs online, so students can complete advanced degrees without leaving the community.
