We have a team of international advisors that work with you from the time you apply until after you graduate from OWU. Amenities include visa assistance, airport pick up, shopping trips, assistance opening a bank account, getting a phone plan and drivers license. Housing during most breaks is offered and international orientation lasts through the first semester.
Student visa
When a student has decided to enroll at Ohio Wesleyan University, they will need to provide: Affidavit of Financial Support, bank statement/letter, I-20 Issuance Form, and copy of passport data to start the visa process to receive an F-1 visa. A student MUST submit a good faith enrollment deposit commiting to attend Ohio Wesleyan in order to receive the form I-20. The sooner a student submits the enrollment fee, the sooner OWU can begin on the I-20 processing.
Accommodation
Housing is guaranteed all four years - in fact it's a requirement. Attractive, comfortable housing starts with the first year residence hall, completely renovated a few years ago with 24 hour dining. Upperclass students can choose from singles, suite style living, brand new senior apartments, or themed houses with kitchens, living rooms and study spaces. hemes include Social Justice house, Tree House, Creative Arts House, Citizens of the World House, and several others.
Scholarships
Full scholarships are not available at Ohio Wesleyan and some family contribution is required each year. Each admitted international student is guaranteed the Bashford International Award of $35,000 per year. Limited need-based aid can be applied for on top of the Bashford award, but OWU does not guaranteed to meet full need for international students.
Additional information
Students should log into their application portal after they receive an email with login information. The portal contains not only a list of missing items, but ways to upload additional items, connect with OWU, and view scholarship updates. OWU guarantees every student transformational experiences such as research, internships, study off campus and service projects.
