International students friendly
We offer many opportunities for support, leadership, extracurricular involvement, and lifelong friendships. The International Student Association club organizes trips, international cuisine dinners, crafting events, and many more! We also work closely with other ESF and SU clubs to make students’ experience at ESF fun and full of great memories.
Student visa
It is advisable to apply for your visa well in advance of the date you will begin your studies, but not more than 120 days before the program start date listed in section five of your I-20. Applying early will give you extra time if there are delays at the embassy, or if you wish to reapply in the event of a denial.
Accommodation
ESF offers on-campus housing to first-year undergraduate students: https://www.esf.edu/student-affairs/living-dining/index.php We offer a guide for finding off-campus housing with tips on what to check before signing a lease. Syracuse has a city bus system.
Additional information
ESF has a special partnership with Syracuse University. Special access to courses at SU enables our students to take classes in areas of interest not offered at ESF. Our students may also use SU’s extensive libraries and computer labs to supplement those on the ESF campus. They can enjoy meals in any of SU's five residential dining halls, food courts, snack bars and Cafés.
