Taylor Business Institute Chicago is a small private career college located in Chicago's West Loop. Founded in 1962, Taylor Business Institute awards associate degrees, and certificate for special purpose programs. It is located only in Chicago, Illinois. Taylor Business Institute has been operating in the Chicago Loop since 1962. From 1962 to 1986, the college was primarily a diploma-focused institute offering women clerk typist and secretarial training and was owned by ITT Educational Services. In 1986, Janice Parker, the former director of the school, acquired the college. In December 1975, to reflect its mission to provide broader opportunities for students seeking business education, the college’s name was changed to Taylor Business Institute. In 1983, the college received approval to grant its first associate degree. In 2000, Taylor Business Institute was approved by the Department of Homeland Security - U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and recognized as a college that can issue F1 I-20 status to international students. In February 2017, Taylor Business Institute was regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
