About the university
The University of Alaska Southeast (UAS) is one of three separately accredited universities that make up the University of Alaska statewide system. UAS is an integrated regionally-accredited institution with three campuses: Juneau, Ketchikan, and Sitka. Each contributes in important ways to the overall UAS mission. UAS focuses on student learning enhanced by faculty scholarship, undergraduate research and creative activities, community engagement, and the cultures and environment of Southeast Alaska. UAS is a student-centered institution—our goal is helping you succeed in achieving your educational and career goals. The three UAS campuses are located in the traditional homelands of the Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian peoples of Southeast Alaska. Their presence in this coastal temperate rainforest dates back more than 10,000 years. UAS is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). Please visit our website for more information including specialized accreditations.
