About the university
In 2008, the Faculty of Law fulfilled 170 years of its creation, as legitimate successor of the Theoretical-Practical Academy of Jurisprudence founded on June 11, 1838. Its origins are even more remote, since the Chair of Jurisprudence had been Erected exactly 5 years before, at the dawn of the Republic. Its definitive establishment was given in 1849, along with that of the University. During all those years the Faculty of Law has distinguished itself by its generous contribution to the Community to which it belongs: it has done much more than to produce excellent legal professionals with clear conscience of their professional, social and ethical responsibility, always accompanying the process Legal and institutional framework of the country.
