About the university
Urgench State University was founded by the No. 356 Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on February 28, 1992 on the basis of the former Khorezm State Pedagogical Institute. At the Urgench State University there are 8 faculties, 30 departments, where bachelors and masters are trained in 42 study areas and 15 specialties. The contingent of students on the full-time department of the bachelor's degree is 7588, on the magistracy - 88, the total number - 7676 students. 677 professors and teachers are teaching at the university, including doctors of science, professors, 19 candidates of science, assistant professors - 156, senior teachers and assistant teachers-502. The share of graded professors and teachers at the university is 25.8%.
