About the university
Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service was founded in February 1931 in Tashkent as a Central Asian planning institute. In April 1935, this institute was transferred to the State Planning Committee of Uzbekistan. In August 1935 the institute was moved from Tashkent to Samarkand.
