About the university
The history of the Tashkent Institute of Agricultural Irrigation and Mechanization Engineering dates back to 1923 when the faculty of engineering melioration was established on the basis of the hydrotechnical faculty of Turkestan State University, which began the training of agronomists and melioration engineers. In 1934, the Central Asian Institute of Irrigation Engineers and Technicians and the Central Asian Institute for Irrigation and Mechanization of Agriculture established the Institute of Irrigation and Mechanization of Agriculture in Central Asia, which in November 1937 was renamed the Tashkent Institute of Agricultural Irrigation and Mechanization.
