About the university
The history of the HA Barceló Foundation and its commitment to the development of biomedical science in Argentina is inextricably linked to the history of its founder . His commitment to teaching medicine led him to create in 1968 the Institute of Teaching and Biological Research. After twenty-three years of experience and having contributed to the formation of more than 40,000 future doctors, in 1991 the Héctor Alejandro Barceló Foundation for the Development of Argentine Biomedical Science was established. On June 26, 1992, the Ministry of Culture and Education of the Argentine Republic granted the HA Barceló Foundation provisional authorization for the operation of the University Institute of Health Sciences in the City of Buenos Aires , where the career of Medicine . Since then the University Institute of Health Sciences maintains and promotes the purposes for which it was created by the Foundation. In this sense, it carries out intensive, constant and increasing activities of teaching - degree, postgraduate and continuing training - research and university extension.
