About the university
The Chinese Library Society, formerly known as the China Library Association, was founded in 1925 and became one of the initiators of the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) in 1927. July 9-9, 1979, the establishment of the General Assembly and the first member of the General Assembly held in Taiyuan, Shanxi. In August the same year to join the China Science and Technology Association. In May 1981, this Council resumed its legal seat at the IFLA (IFLA).
