The 5.5-year uniform MSc in Pharmacy programme is an attractive option for enthusiasts of exact sciences, with a focus on chemistry, physics and mathematics. This offer is tailored especially for candidates whose area of interest revolves around medicine but are not necessarily interested in becoming a physician. The curriculum covers theoretical and practical aspects of the pharmaceutical profession and uses both traditional and modern teaching methods. Students have access to fully-equipped pharmaceutical laboratories, where they prepare for the profession while learning to operate state-of-the-art technology as well as more traditional appliances. The pharmacy profession is an indispensable element of the entire healthcare system. While physicians or nurses provide direct health care to their patients, the role of a pharmacist is to ensure quality use of medications, which is crucial to achieving the desired and optimal health outcomes. Graduates holding a pharmacy licence are qualified and eligible to: seek employment in different types of public or non-public pharmaceutical establishments; provide patients and healthcare professionals with information and advice on the use, contraindications, interactions and adverse reactions of different types of medications; serve as a representative of pharmaceutical companies and consortiums; enrol for doctoral studies and pursue scientific career in research centres and institutes.
