Higher Polytechnic Institute of Technology and Sciences by Sonangol

ISPTEC was born in February 2005, with the start of the construction of the facilities of the University of Technologies and Sciences (UTEC) as an initiative of Sonangol, to create a university with quality in its academic, pedagogical and administrative processes. Progress was made in the construction of the physical facilities, especially administrative buildings, teaching buildings, laboratories and a sports complex. In March 2008, the PDA - People, Development and Associates was created as a promoter of the Higher Polytechnic Institute of Technologies and Sciences (ISPTEC) with the responsibility of guaranteeing the integral development of the institution and guaranteeing its financing. On August 5, 2011, considering the two areas of knowledge to implement instead of four to meet the requirements established in legislation for the creation of a University, the Council of Ministers approved, through Executive Decree 111/11, the creation of the Institute Polytechnic University of Technology and Sciences (ISPTEC). In March 2012, ISPTEC began its academic activities with the offer of six Engineering courses (Mechanical, Civil, Electrotechnical, Computer Science, Chemistry and Industrial Production) and two courses in Applied Social Sciences (Economics and Management). Teaching activities work in the morning, afternoon and evening shifts.
